Tamil Nadu Junior Badminton makes History in National Inter State - Inter Zonal Championship 2022



Tamil Nadu Badminton registers ever first Inter-State - Inter Zonal junior team title at Yonex-Sunrise 45th Inter-State - Inter Zonal Badminton Championships 2022 held at Bhubaneswar, Odissa on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, and organized by the Badminton Association of India.



Tamil Nadu Badminton Junior team is represented by N. Srinidhi, Balaji Shreya, Ayyappan Dev, Ayyappan Dhiren, R. Arulmurugan, S. Rakshitha Sree, Anish Raj, N.B. Adarshini Shri, S. Bharath Sanjai, V.D. Methini, V.R. Nardhana, and K.M. Nidhin



To qualify Inter State Zonal Championship 2022, Team Tamilnadu tackled the challenges of the powerhouses Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Kerala in the South Zone Championships 2022.


The team composition is the vital factor for the Team Tamil Nadu which plays with exclusive doubles players while other teams are not. It is a remarkable victory ever in the history of Tamilnadu Badminton registered by the junior players.





In recent years, Tamil Nadu Badminton produces young quality senior players Sathishkumar, Sankar Muthusamy, Doubles Players Hariharan, Rubankumar, and Nardhana who are from a bunch of ambitious coaches from parts various parts of Tamilnadu. By following them, Junior players started to achieve in the international and national circuits, and this is evidence of the existence of high-performance coaches, academies, quality infrastructure, and players in the south tip of the country.


In the quarter-finals, Odisha surrenders to Haryana in straights 0-3, and Haryana enters Semis in dominance. In a thriller, Tamilnadu treated a shock to Chattisgarh with a crucial comeback after losing both the opening decider singles. Anish Raj lost to Raunak Chouhan - 21-13, 11-21, 16-21 and Rakshitha Sree lost to Tanoo Chandra - 15-21, 21-14, 21-23.


In Men's Doubles, Dev and Dhiren Aiyappan lost the first game, and the chance of Tamilnadu in the knockout was decided almost. TN Duo came back in the second game and defeat Abhishek / Prabjeeth Singh by 12-21, 21-12, and 21-15.

This is an evidence of the existence of high-performance coaches, academies, quality infrastructure, and players in the south tip of the country.

Then the pathway was easier while Women's and mixed doubles pairs Shreya / Srinidhi and Arul Murugan / Srinidhi beat Tanoo Chandra/Himal Chouhan, and Abhishek / Shivani Pillai in straights to reach the semis by beating 3-2 in the 5 Hrs 45 Mins thriller. Tamil Nadu once again showcased its double's power guns with the Dev brothers' and Srinidhi's pairs' stellar performances.

 
 

In the Semi-Finals, in contrast, Tamil Nadu manages Uttrakhand, except for Men's Singles, the remaining matches were won in straights to enter into the finals of the 45th Inter-State - Inter Zonal Badminton Championships 2022.

Tamil Nadu beats Haryana in the finals 3-1 with all-round performances. Though Singh Manraj, Haryana defeated K.M. Nidhin 21-11 21-19 in Men's Singles, Tamilnadu's promising player Rakshitha Sree had come back in the 55 mins decider 18-21, 21-13, 21-9 against Kharb Anmol and equals the tie 1-1. Once again Ayyappan Dev & Ayyappan Dhiren dominated and continued their winning momentum throughout the tournament and defeat D Budhwar Anshul Singh Manraj in straights by 20-22 15-21 to take the lead 2-1.

Kharb Anmol Toor Ridhi Kaur beat Balaji Shreya N. Srinidhi 21-18 22-20 in Women's Doubles and 2-2 tie continued. In the thriller mixed double's, R. Arulmurugan N. Srinidhi won 14-21 21-17 27-29 and ended the contest in a style and team TN made history by registering their ever first inter-state junior national team championship.


Tamil Nadu once again showcased its double's power guns with the Dev Dhiren brothers' and Srinidhi's pairs' stellar performances.
