Though the Yonex advanced shoes are coming with more features, it is challenging for a professional player to choose a better Yonex shoe for their choice. This blog will review the common features of the most recent and successful Yonex Shoes and compare their differences. It will help the players to choose shoes based on their choice and requirement.

To absorb shocks, produce more energy, and move faster with stability, These three models have the following common essential features for advanced players. Now the common features of all these three shoe models are discussed.

2021 Yonex Power Cushion Aerus Z

2020 Yonex Power Cushion 65 Z 2

2019 Yonex Power Cushion Eclipsion Z

Shock Absorption

Power Cushion construction provides 3 times more shock absorbing power. When dropped from 7m above a Power Cushion sheet, an egg will bounce back 4m without damage.

POWER CUSHION+ A raw egg can be dropped from 12 meters above the POWER CUSHION+ mat, rebounding to a height of 6 meters without breaking.

Stability Power Graphite Sheet A graphite plate is inserted under the middle portion of the sole to increase stability and reduce weight within the shoe.

Quicker Footwork Synchro-Fit Insole YONEX new Synchro-Fit Insole construction allows a closer fit between shoe and foot, keeping power loss to an absolute minimum to achieve smoother movement and quicker footwork.

Toe Assist Shape A toe-centric design that cuts down on pressure in the big toe, as well as offering improved support at the mid-foot and heel for a stable fit. Power loss is reduced, allowing for swift footwork.

Max Energy Round Sole The YONEX Round Sole is designed to provide all-around support for quick and smooth footwork. The Round Sole ensures smooth movements and transfer of maximum energy.

Yonex Power Cushion 65 Z 2 To reduce Power Loss and stress and increase the stability, Yonex Power Cushion 65 Z 2 has been added with the following features.

Reduced Stress ToughBrid Light ToughBrid Light retains the exact performance as ToughBrid yet is 11%* lighter, generating a significant reduction in leg and knee stress.

Increased Stability

Power Graphite Lite A super-light graphite plate is inserted under the middle portion of the foot to increase stability and reduce weight within the shoe.

Reduced Power Loss

Lateral Shell The Lateral Shell located on the outside of the forefoot prevents sliding at the edge of the sole. It reduces power loss, increases footwork response and creates smooth, fluid and offensive foot movements.

Hexagrip Sole For agile and stable footwork, the hexagrip pattern provides 3% more grip and is 20% lighter than standard sole material.

Missing Features: Durable, lightweight and breathable upper skin is missing compared to other two models.

Yonex Power Cushion Eclipsion Z While Aerus Z and 65 Z 2 are serving with hexagrip Sole, Eclipsion has Semi One Piece Radial Blade sole. The grip pattern of the sole has been redesigned creating the RADIAL BLADE SOLE. By finely arranging a windmill shape that combines areas with large and small indentations, the weight of the shoe is dispersed, and the grip is improved by approximately 3%. Resulting in a grip that supports quick dashes and sudden stops.

Missing Features: Lateral Shell, ToughBird Light technologies of 65 Z 2 to reduce the stress on leg and knees, and power loss are missing in Eclipsion Z.

Yonex Power Cushion Aerus Z

Yonex Power Cushion Aerus Z is the latest addition to the Yonex pro shoe series and Yonex claims it is the lightest shoe. Yonex lightest shoe at 250g provides faster footwork with power and cushioning.

In addition to the Feather Bounce Foam, Durable and Breathable lighter skin, and double russel Mesh, Aerus Z has 3D Power Graphite Sheet to provide stability under the center of the foot and reduces shoe twist.

Hexagrip Sole For agile and stable footwork, the hexagrip pattern provides 3% more grip and is 20% lighter than standard sole material.

Missing Features: Though it covers most of all features, Knee and Leg stress and power loss reducing techniques of 65 Z 2 are missing.

Verdict:

Light Weight shoe for faster footwork with more stability - Yonex Power Cushion Aerus Z
Light Weight shoe with more Grip and stability - Yonex Power Cushion Eclipsion Z
To reduce the stress on leg and knee due to longer game and training session - Yonex Power Cushion 65 Z 2
