The GoSports Foundation (GSF) is working towards securing funds and professional expertise for India's junior Olympic and Paralympic athletes. With the purpose of injecting professionalism and positivity into the sports environment, it has supported many Badminton players including K Srikanth, HS Prannoy, Sai Praneeth from across multiple Olympic and Paralympic disciplines through its scholarship programs.
Two Olympic gold medalists Abhinav Bindra, Indian cricketer Rahul Dravid and Indian Badminton Coach Pullela Gopichand are on the Board of Advisors. GoSports Foundation's mission of empowering India's future Olympians is premised on the belief that sporting champions are created when the right talent gets the right support at the right time.
GoSports Long Term Athlete Development Programme
The programme is with the aim of grooming the next generation of elite Indian athletes by providing them with financial aid and sports science assistance from the early stage of their careers. The aim of the programme is to create pathways to support long-term athlete development in a scientific manner. With the guidance of Olympic gold medallist Abhinav Bindra, the programme aims to throw up sporting champions and create ambassadors of Indian sport over the long term.
Chirag Shetty, Gayathri Pullela, Sankar Muthusamy, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy, Malvika Bansod are the athletes from badminton who have received the GoSports Long Term Athlete Development Programme Scholarship in the recent past.
Promising sub-junior badminton player Rakshitha Sree, Tamilnadu has been selected for GoSports Long Term Athlete Development Programme Scholarship and the tenure of support is for three years from 2022 to 2025. Rakshitha is the 2nd Tamilnadu Player and 10th Indian Badminton player to receive the prestigious Scholarship from GoSports. Her consistent performances in the Sub-junior circuit and recent emergence in the National Junior and International circuits provide the pathway to qualify her for the GoSports Scholarship.
Rakshitha Sree is practising at the Pullela Gopichand Badminton Academy- SAI, Hyderabad for the last two years. Rakshithasree is representing Coimbatore, Tamilnadu in the national circuit. Santhoshkumar, R., her father is a medical representative from Pollachi, Tamilnadu, and Arunadevi, S., her mother is homemaking.
She started her career with Gopinath, AIMS Badminton Academy Coimbatore and learnt foundations from him. During her early sub-junior days, she was with Shibu Gopidas, LifeSpring Badminton Academy Coimbatore.
