Is the New Badminton Sensation 14-year-old Tanvi Sharma the Next PV Sindhu or Saina?



Just 14-year-old Tanvi Sharma, Punjab, made history by entering the girl's singles finals (U15, U17, U19) of the sub-junior and junior championship tournaments 2022 held at Bhubaneswar, Odissa, this December.


And she won three gold and one silver in Under 15 (Singles) Gold, Under 17 (Singles) Gold, Under 15 (XD Doubles) Gold & Under 19 (Singles) Sliver. It is a rare moment in Indian badminton history that a 14-year-old girl dominated all the sub-junior and junior championships of the year.


Tanvi tried to answer the decade-long question, "Who is next to PV Sindhu or Saina Nehwal?".

In recent months, Tanvi is a threat for the top players and 14 year old got the opportunity to represent India in U15 and U17 Girl's Singles of Asia Badminton Championship 2022, Thailand.




Tanvi entered quarter finals of Kotak India Junior International Series 2022 held at Hyderabad and India Junior International Grand Prix 2022 Pune in in August 2022. She is 115th rank in BWF World Junior Women's Singles.


She played Infosys Foundation India International Challenge 2022, October Bengaluru and India Maharashtra International Challenge 2022, September, Nagpur, and is now in BWF World Women's Singles Rank 733.
