India's Sankar Muthusamy upsets World #2 in BWF 300 Swiss Open 2025

India's Sankar Muthusamy, a former World Junior Champion and top-ranked player, has defeated World No. 2 Anders Antonsen from Denmark in a decisive match with scores of 18-21, 21-12, 21-05, advancing to the quarterfinals of the BWF World Tour 300 2025 Swiss Open take place at the St. Jakobshalle, Basel, Switzerland, from 18 to 23 March 2025 and has a total prize of US$250,000.

In another Pre-Quarter Final matches of Men's Singles, India's Priyanshu Rajawat was defeated by France's Toma Junior Popov with scores of 15-21, 17-21, while Srikanth Kidambi lost to China's Shi Feng Li, the world No. 6, with scores of 15-21, 11-21 in straight sets.


Fourth-seeded Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand advanced to the quarterfinals with a dominant performance, defeating the German pair in straight sets, 21-12, 21-08.
