
58 years of waiting for a Gold from Asia Badminton Championships for Badminton India ended after Satwik Sairaj Rankireddy & Chirag Shetty won the Men's Doubles Gold, Asia Badminton Championships 2023. World no.6 Chirag & Satwik of India scripts history by winning maiden Men's Doubles Gold medal for India from Badminton Asia Championships. The 2023 Badminton Asia Championships was held at the Sheikh Rashid Bin Hamdan Indoor Hall in Dubai, United Arab Emirates from 25 to 30 April 2023. Indian duo won the historical Gold Medal by beating the World No.8 Teo Ee Yei and Ong Yew Sin, Malaysia, 16 21, 21 17, 21 19.

A total of 17 medals have been earned by the Indian players since Dinesh Khanna had won the only Gold medal from the Asian Championships in 1965. Remaining 16 medals are Bronze.
